NSA conference response
by admin
On July 4th, thisisstuttering was shown to a group of about 700 people at the National Stuttering Association’s 30th Annual Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. I honestly did not know how the screening would go, being shown to 700 people who recognized, identified, and suffered from the same speech impediment I do. I was absolutely astonished at the immediate response following the conclusion of the film: A ROARING STANDING OVATION. I was emotional, I couldn’t believe my personal story of pain and perseverance and acceptance of my problem was connecting with an entire roomful of people I did not know. I am so thankful for the opportunity to play thisisstuttering to such a fantastic group of friends and participating in conversation after conversation, hearing people’s stories, meeting stutterer after stutterer, I was overwhelmed with this blessing. Thank to ALL to came out to Scottsdale and participated in the screening and Q&A following. This was an experience of a lifetime and I can not be more grateful for the loving, caring, and immensely supportive people of the National Stuttering Association. Can’t wait for next year!
Morgan, you are amazing! My husband is a person who stutters and so is my fifteen year old son. We were all there to see your film last week and we were blown away at how candid and accurate it was. It really resonated with my son; he said that was the most beneficial part of the conference for him. Congratulations on your film, and I will be very interested in following your journey in the future. Well done!
Amazing. Truly amazing. Congratulations! Love it.
